SUMMARY:Talk by Sue Kittle on Asian Hornets with our AGM
DESCRIPTION:Our AGM includes a talk on Asian Hornets by Sue Kittle. \nSue has been keeping bees for over 15 years and is an experienced member of the British Beekeeping Association\, and holder of the General Certificate in Beekeeping Husbandry. She has over 25 colonies in the local area.\nThe Asian Hornet is a major threat in Kent and we need to be aware of the devastating effect it can have on our colonies of honey bees and our other native pollinators.\nSue will explain how to recognize one\, who to notify\, and how the nests are tracked. The queen hornets emerge soon\, so the next few months will be important in stopping the spread of this alien species. \nEntry is free for members and tea/coffee/biscuits will be provided. \nNon-members are welcome on payment of £5. \nAs space is limited\, please book a place by emailing elderson2018@gmail.com or by phoning 01227 728296. \nWe are hoping there will be some of Sue’s honey for sale\, so come prepared!
